March’s Ode to Spring

This Fairy Garden Journal was created upcycling a hanging file folder. I learned this technique from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uHEGpX6JDI&list=PLf6k5HnxAJj5mpzRczrnY0AYwWLEQVH50&index=4. The Gecko Galz, https://www.etsy.com/shop/geckogalz?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=111554935&search_query=fairy+garden, Fairy Garden Junk Journal Kit was perfect for this junk journal.

I modified the journal by keeping gently pulling apart the flap that housed the metal rods. I threaded ribbon through the line inserts and then carefully glued the flaps closed. This created two sets of ribbons that I tied to secure the journal.

I used scrapbook page scraps to adorn the cover and inside. I gathered book pages and notebook paper to create one single signature. I did a 3-hole binding method to secure inside the folder. Then the fun began!

I chose to cut and past the images from the digital collection rather than digitally altering them. I enlarged several images prior to printing.

The end product is a whimsical fairy journal.
