Art as Therapy

I’ve been journaling. Usually, I try to coordinate my vacations around art classes. Those days are now on hold; however, the art classes have shifted from in-person to online. One of the most talented artists I’ve been eager to take is Dyan Reaveley.

Dyan creates the Ranger product line Dylusions. She operates out of Harrogate, England. She’s the owner of Art From the Heart, a mixed media shop run by her son Ben. Dyan typically spends 150 days a year traveling across the globe teaching. When COVID-19 took hold, Dyan shifted her classes from in-person to online. The classes can be purchased on her Etsy shop, https://www.etsy.com/shop/DyanReaveleyArt?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=810207441. The individual classes are a great value! They’re offered live or you may view pre-recorded. I recommend the live classes. Dyan answers questions throughout as she describes her days surviving the pandemic.

Dyan also maintains a YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVGg5WI-zor_RQIQtm00ifA, where she creates art through the week. Dyan dispenses witty comments while teaching mixed media techniques.

I began keeping a Dyan Dyary. I view the videos, usually several times, and journal how my family and I are handling remaining home. It has been incredibly therapeutic! Try it!
